Whats the difference between hard wax and soft wax?

At Esthetics by Soryal, we apply the Escential Rose Hard Wax Pastille during our Brazilian and underarm waxing sessions for women and during our ear, nose and eyebrow treatments for men. Very few local estheticians use it due to its price, but Soryal feels its worth the price. It is less painful than soft wax. We use Escential Pure Hypoallergenic Soft Wax for all other waxing purposes.

How long does waxing last? How does waxing compare to other hair removal options?

Waxing is great if you are tired of the hassle of shaving several times a week. A waxing session from Esthetics by Soryal will last for about 3-6 weeks. When you first begin your waxing treatments, Soryal recommends coming in every 3 weeks to catch hair before it begins a new growth cycle. The longer you maintain a waxing regimen, the more time you can stretch between appointments. With each waxing session, you destroy the hair follicle little by little. The more you wax the less your hair grows back. As your hair becomes thinner you can wax less frequently.

How long or short should the hair be for waxing?

At least a half inch and if longer leave it, Soryal will trim down before waxing.

What is the difference between shaving and waxing?

When hair is shaved it is cut off at the thick part of the hair which is why you can feel stubble the next day. Waxed hair is removed from the root therefore new growth is very fine and no stubble.

Do hormones affect hair growth?

Yes. Hormones, natural or artificial, will stimulate hair growth and may require more frequent waxing.

How will my skin react to waxing?

Temporary redness after waxing is normal and slight itchiness may be experienced as the hair grows out.

For Best Waxing Results:
  • Please let Soryal know if you are on any medication, for example Retin-A or Cortisone as it makes the skin sensitive.
  • Use a loofa and gently exfoliate the waxed area.
  • Avoid tanning beds prior to waxing.
  • Do not shave between appointments.
